The Compass Club provides the chance to complete a full marathon on each of Australia's northern, southern, eastern, western and central compass points, with the central marathon at the geographic centre of Australia: the Lambert Research Centre.

Three hours south of Alice Springs is the small town of Kulgera, which will be the event base. From Kulgera, the Lambert Centre is a further 120 kilometres of red dirt driving, heavily recommended to be travelled by 4WD only.
