The Central Coast Cross Country races at Mingara Athletics Track, NSW on Saturday, 12 May 2018 is part of a cross country series that runs through the autumn & winter months each year.
The location for this event was changed from Point Wolstoncroft to Mingara Athletics Track due to strong winds and falling branches on the track during the race.
There is a 12km run as well as the usual 2, 4 & 6km runs this week. The course will be an out and back around the cone - so there's no chance of getting lost! The track is rocky with some tree roots so lots of care needs to be taken at this course
Each Saturday CCXC run is organised along three different loop tracks in two waves. The first wave is the shortest track (typically 2 km). The second wave is a combined start of the medium (4 km) and long track (6 km) and starts shortly after the first wave has finished. This provides the opportunity to either do a warm-up run before starting the medium/long or to run up with family members that run the short track. Each track is clearly marked and where needed volunteers are posting along the track to give directions.
