The Great Volcanic Mountain Challenge is fun run style event, where you can run or walk the 11km to the top of Mt Canobolas in Orange, New South Wales.

The course is mostly uphill but only a couple of sections are steep. From the Start near Towac Pinnacle Picnic Grounds (off Pinnacle Rd) you first visit Mt Towac and then Young Man Canobolas before the final climb to Mt Canobolas. The overall climb is 520m.

The route starts near Towac Pinnacle Picnic Ground on Pinnacle Road, Orange and takes in spectacular views from the volcanic range, passing through changing vegetation on little used forest roads and bush tracks.
