Enter the toughest team endurance event in Australia and find out what you are made of at the Kokoda Challenge! It is a gruelling, 96km cross-country trek (or, if you're a machine - run) through the spectacular Gold Coast hinterland on Saturday, 19 July 2014. The time limit for completion is 39 hours.
These numbers hold special significance in Kokoda history; 96km is the exact length of the Kokoda Track in PNG. The time limit of 39 hours is in honour of the 39th Militia, who were the first troops to defend Australia at Kokoda.
Each team of four participants (with the help of their Support Crew) treks the 96km course along fire trails, crossing 12 creeks and climbing summits of 5,000m of vertical elevation. The goal is to finish as a complete team of four in honour of the spirit forged on the Kokoda Track in 1942: courage, endurance, mateship and sacrifice.
