Newcastle Cross Country Club's Mt Sugarloaf Cross Country and 25km King of the Mountain are part of a series of races between April and August in the Hunter Region of NSW.

You do need to be a club member to participate in these events; membership is open to anyone subject to completing an application form and paying a fairly minimal registration fee. Either join online beforehand or on race day for a slightly higher fee.

Location map

King of the Mountain competitors will run along the fire trail from the top of Mt Sugarloaf, down to Wakefield and return via the same trail. The Mt Sugarloaf Cross Country Handicap commences on the dirt road south of the car park near the Rural Fire Service shed, and continues out along one of the fire trails.
