The Sydney Summer Twilight Series event at Berry Reserve, Narrabeen on Thursday, 18 January 2018 is one of a number of events in the Sydney Metro area over the summer.
The run starts at the car park, goes south, turns at 1.5km; runs north and turns at 4km = complete lap for 5km: 2 laps for 10km. This is a certified course with each km marked. There are toilets, BBQ facilities, tables and nearby takeaway shops, cafes and supermarket. It's right on the lake if you'd like a dip after the race.
It is organised informally by volunteer hosts, who facilitate the event on their preferred date and venue. Races are held in the twilight so that runners can race after work. All are welcome.
The philosophy of the series is: "First and foremost, all ability levels are welcome. However long it takes you to complete the distance is the time it takes you to complete the distance. Anyone who believes that there should be a time limit criteria has got the wrong series. Whether you hop skip walk fart hobble run to get the distance is irrelevant, turning up and having a go is what it is all about. If you are worried about this being elitist, you couldn't be further off the mark."
