The Tan Handicap and Breakfast in Melbourne is organised by the Victorian Road Runners on the first Saturday of the season (March, June, September & December), followed by a barbecue breakfast, with this season's event on Saturday, 4 March 2017.

This event starts on the Tan Track at the Pillars of Wisdom on Alexandra Avenue near the Swan Street Bridge (Melway 2G A9), just a few minutes out of the CBD. Runners of all standards and ages are welcome and you don't need to be a member of VRR.

The 8km distance is a handicap event. If you haven't run with VRR before, see the handicapper for a handicap before you run. There's no charge, but a coin donation is appreciated. There is a bacon and egg breakfast by the river at the barbeques across the road afterwards.
