This week's newsletter on February 20th 2014 has interesting running articles, late event additions and important event updates and corrections.
Dave Wottle's 1972 Olympic Final 800m

Hoka OneOne signs 800 & 1500 metre runners
Hoka OneOne is a relatively new "maximalist" running shoe, which has become popular with some ultra/trail runners. But now they've managed to sign a couple of 800 metre and 1500 metre runners to use their shoes, despite not having spikes for their shoes. Find out more at Runners World.
Baw Baw to Bourke Street Trail Run Challenges Runners to Stay Off-Road

Brendan Davies Running Wild Wentworth Falls Race Report

Pacers in Ultras - Should we or shouldn't we?
On the one hand they're a great way for race directors to ensure the safety of runners out on the course... on the other, do they create an unfair advantage for those that have them over those that don't? Are runners who are allowed pacers but chose not to, doing themselves a disservice by not having one? Do runners with pacers gain an advantage over those that don't? Read the case for and the case against at Ultra168.
To find out what's been recently updated, check the website homepage regularly. I include in this newsletter a list of the more important updates such as date changes, cancellations or late additions to the calendar. Late additions are events which will take place in the next two to three weeks and have only just been added to the website.
