12 reasons to try a trail race
Active.com talks about 12 reasons to try a trail race: including a change of scenery; timing isn't everything; added adventure; and trail running being nature's obstacle course. Read the article here to see the rest of them and more information about these points.

The evolution of running shoes
Runners World has an info-graphic looking at the evolution of the running shoe, from the 1920s (thin shoes with crepe rubber soles and leather uppers) through to the proliferation of types of modern running shoes and then a guess at what it'll be like in 30 years. Check it out here.

More recipes from Cerise - yum!
Cerise celebrated getting her 50th parkrun t-shirt with a berry bomb cake from The Raw Kitchen's new e-book Raw Armour (that looks super yummy - om nom nom); another recent recipe is fudge made with almonds and dates. Another excellent looking recipe for running and eating.

The superfoods list: 10 choices for race-season success
And while we're talking about food, active.com has a list of "superfoods" that can help in race season: bananas, avocados, berries, eggs, greek yoghurt, hummus, nuts, steel cut oats, spinach and whole grains. I eat pretty much all of those fairly regularly so I must be doing something right! Check out the full article here for more information.

Dynamic Running's sign up
Dynamic Running's sign up is this Saturday at 9am at Muddy's Cafe, 174 Esplanade, Cairns Queensland. Prior to this they will all run the FREE, timed, 5km Cairns parkrun at 7am. This is a new running club that provides regular weekly group training sessions and a social run on a Saturday morning (followed by coffee at Muddy's Café). Find out more here.

Search Calendar Close

Select from the various options below and click the "Search Calendar" button under the form to show events of the most interest to you. Clear form

All options are inclusive except for the kids, women only and wheelchair options. For example, choosing "On Road", "Off Road", "Short", "NSW" and "ACT" will find on and and off road short distance races in NSW and ACT. Adding "Kids" would limit those results to only events which also have a kids event.
