This week's newsletter has interesting articles, a competition for some accommodation at the Mt Buller Sky Run, and some date changes, cancellations and late additions to the running calendar (in particular the Melanoma March which has events coming up over the next three weekends).
The March Charge - Run, Ride or Swim down cancer
March 1st 2016 marked the first day of The March Charge, a national Cancer Council campaign that calls upon people to enlist in the sporting movement to run, ride or swim down cancer. Although we're three days into March, it's not too late to start. Find out more here.
10 tips for running in the rain
This article from About Health offers ten tips for running in the rain. Some of their suggestions include: wear a hat with a brim; don't overdress; be visible; prevent chafing; protect your electronics; and dry out your shoes.
Muddy Mums by Mudman
Mudman writes at Obstacle Racers Australia: "I am astounded at the number of Mums willing to push their post baby bodies to their limits at Obstacle Races. Running, jumping..., climbing, carrying, dragging and conquering all obstacles that they encounter. They don't wear capes but these women are my heroes." Read more.

Tobias Mews writes in The Guardian's Running Blog: "After running 2,700 miles across five continents and 15 countries, a few things have become apparent about how to choose, prepare for and enjoy my routes and races" and then goes on to list the 10 things he learned.
7 ways you are a rude runner and don't even know it
Beth Risdon looks at some of things people do when they run which they really shouldn't in this article at Shut Up + Run. These include: spitting or letting fly a snot rocket without looking; stopping suddenly without looking behind you; not waving; and playing music too loud.

- Show Your Colours for the Chopper in Tamworth, NSW is on May 28th, not June 10th as originally listed
- Atherton Forest Trail Race in Queensland on March 6th (this Sunday) has been cancelled
- I've removed the June 5th date from the Kep Ultra listing, because there's not an official event this year; Rob Donkersloot is still running the 100km course on that day
- Melanoma March with events throughout Australia over the next thee weekends
- Mater Little Miracles 5K in Springfield, Queensland on March 20th
- Market to Mount Fun Run in Derrinallum, Victoria on March 20th
- There is now also a 42km marathon at the Centennial Park Ultra on August 7th
