Mixed relays to debut at 2020 Olympic Games
The 2020 Olympics at Tokyo will include a 4x400 mixed relay in athletics and a 4x100 medley mixed relay in swimming. The athletics mixed relay has been done at a few meets already, including the recent Nitro Athletics Series in Melbourne, and it's great to see it will be included in the Olympics. ITRA & UTMB and points brouhaha
Over the course of the past week, there have been a number of articles doing the rounds regarding the payment of money to the ITRA, to in effect be registered and rated as a qualifying race for UTMB. Marathon World Record attempt set for September
Eliud Kipchoge ran the world's fastest marathon in May at Nike's Breaking2 experiment, but due to the tactics used (including rotating use of pace setters and that great big wind break on the back of the lead vehicle) it doesn't count as the World Record. Eliud has just announced he'll attempt to set the official world record at the Berlin marathon in September. Find out more here at Runners World.

- Climb n Dine Charity Stair Climb at the Shangri-La Hotel in Sydney has changed from 30 July to 28 October
- Run Nation's second Brisbane screening has changed from August 24th to 26th
- Caboolture 48 Hour Race: the 48 hour event has been cancelled this year due to lack of entries; the other events are still going ahead.
- Men's Health Survival of the Fittest at Sydney Olympic Park scheduled for 2 December has been cancelled
