Exercises for building stronger lower legs
This article at Runners World has some key exercises for strengthening your legs - there's a description and graphic of each one: wall stretch; foam roll; shin lift; heel/toe walk; seated calf raise; and compartment stretch.

Runaway newlyweds in marathon marriage
Gillian Cordner and Gary Connolly, two newlyweds from County Antrim in Northern Ireland, knew they had to do something special on their wedding day. So after their marriage on Friday morning, they decided to the bypass the usual hotel reception, dinner and dancing and run a marathon, running it in a wedding dress and faux tuxedo. Cat Bradley sets Grand Canyon R2R2R FKT
The Grand Canyon's Rim to Rim to Rim is a well known trail, with many trail runners seeking the FKT for it (Fastest Known Time). Cat Bradley recently set the women's FKT for the trail in 7 hours 52 minutes and 20 seconds, having made it her goal after hiking the trail three years ago in 16 hours. Read her interesting story here at Trail Runner Magazine about she discovered the trails, became a champion at the Western States 100, and ultimately achieved her goal.
