Ankle Mobility: Knee-To-Wall Test
When running, the shin & knee of the weight-bearing leg need to be able to pass over the grounded foot. For this to happen, the ankle needs sufficient range of dorsiflexion. The Knee-To-Wall Test is one of the standard ways used in clinics to test available ankle dorsiflexion as part of an investigation into why a runner may be experiencing pain higher up in the knee or hip. Limits and the Barkley Marathons
The Barkley Marathons allows you 60 hours to complete 100 (or more) miles, 67,000 feet of elevation gain and loss, an unmarked course, often extreme weather, and countless additional confounding factors. No one finished within the time cut offs at this year's event, and only 15 people have finished the race under 60 hours in 32 years.
