Why you should be skeptical about your wrist-based heart rate
A lot of running watches these days come with heart rate monitors that either work from a strap worn on your chest, or using a wrist based LED. Coach David Roche takes a look at how both work and the possible inaccuracies when using a wrist-based monitor in this article at Trail Runner Magazine.

How to calculate heart rate zones
And to follow up the article above (once you've bought a chest strap and stopped using the wrist based HRM haha), online coach Ben Pulham takes a look at why measuring heart rate is important and how to establish and calculate heart rate in zones in this article on his blog.

Cancellations
- Condev GC100 Charity Bike Event scheduled for 19 May has been cancelled
- The Bloody Long Walk in Hobart has been cancelled (note that entries were never opened and the date was TBC)

Date changes/corrections
- The Butter 24 Track Ultra has changed from 31 August/1 September to 28/29 September
