Athletics SA Winter Season: Ekiden Relay
Saturday, 17 May 2025
Bonython Park, Adelaide, SA
Athletics South Australia's Winter Season Ekiden Relay will be run at Bonython Park in Adelaide on 17 May 2025.
Ever wanted to compete in a marathon but felt you were not quite up to it? Ekiden (駅伝) is a Japanese term which generally refers to a long-distance relay running race, typically conducted on roads. An Ekiden Relay is commonly held over the marathon distance of 42.195km with teams of runners completing legs of varying distance.
Grab 5 other friends and form a team of 6 to experience the marathon or half marathon distance. Each individual will score points based on their individual relay leg and will be ranked within their age using the ASA Ekiden Scoring Table.
This is part of a winter series of ten point scoring events, with clubs vying for Winter Premiership Flags across the ages.
