The Bloody Long Walk: Mornington
Sunday, 19 October 2025
Point Nepean National Park to Martha Cove Marina, Melbourne, VIC
The Bloody Long Walk on the Mornington Peninsula is a 35km challenge on 19 October 2025 from Point Nepean National Park to Martha Cove.
Walk, jog or run and enjoy spectacular scenery whilst raising vital funds to help find cures for mitochondrial disease (mito).
The event is owned and operated by the Mito Foundation. Mitochondrial disease (mito) is a debilitating, potentially fatal, genetic disorder that robs the body’s cells of the energy they need to function properly. One in 200 Australians have genetic changes that put them at risk of developing mito. One Australian child born each week will develop a life-threatening form of mitochondrial disease. That’s around 70 kids a year. Most Australian children diagnosed with mitochondrial disease die in the first 5 years of life.
