The Burra Barrow Push on 1 October 2023 is a 64km road race with a wheelbarrow, commemorating the 40th Anniversary of The Broken Hill to Burra Barrow Push.

The event planned for 1 October 2023 has been postponed; A new date in 2024 is TBC.

he original 1983 race was a 5-day wheelbarrow push from Burra to Broken Hill. The 2023 Burra Barrow Push is an abridged version replicating the first leg of the original event, between Terowie and Burra.

It is open to solo runners, pairs or groups of 3-6. Wheelbarrows are provided.

Prize money will be donated to the charity/group of your choosing.

The event is managed by the Regional Council of Goyder.

The event starts at the Institute Hall in Terowie and finishes at the Market Square, Burra.
