Tasmania's South Coast Track will host the southern edition of the Compass Club from Saturday, 4 April to Sunday, 5 April 2020 - a 42km and 21km out and back run to Australia's deepest south.
Competitors will encounter chilly winds, sprawling plains, rocky cliffs and lengthy boardwalks amongst some of Australia's most stunning landscapes.
The event starts with a traditional indigenous welcome ceremony, and competitors will then make their way down Cockle Creek Road and onto the South Coast Track. The track winds through thick forest, solid boardwalks and a cool, tranquil valley. After a narrow and thick final 500 metres, competitors will meet a burst of sunshine on top of a seaside cliff, marking your arrival at the South East Cape.
Your obligatory photograph at Australia's most southern point will be taken, then turn around and head back towards the finish line in Cockle Creek, thus completing your 42.2 kilometre marathon.
