The Great Kanku-Breakaways Bolt on 8 June 2025 is held in the magnificent Kanku–Breakaways Conservation Park, 30kms north of Coober Pedy, in outback South Australia.

Participants can choose from 42.2km, 21.1km, 10km or 5km distances as a personal challenge, or as part of a team in the 10km event. There is also a 2.5km fun run for kids under 12.

The full Marathon is a running only event and is 2 laps of the out and back Half Marathon course; all other distances can either be run or walked.

The event also includes 10km, 21.1km, 36km & 72km bike ride options.

This event is held at the Kanku-Breakaways Conservation Park. Buses leaving Coober Pedy will shuttle competitors and visitors to and from the park.
