The kunanyi Mountain Run (kMR) from 19 to 21 March 2027 is a trail running festival celebrating Hobart’s connection with kunanyi/Mount Wellington.
In 2027 the event hosts the first combined Australian Mountain and Trail Running Championships.
Trail Running categories include; 80km Ultra Marathon, 46km Alpine Marathon. Mountain Running categories include 14km, 9km and a 5km Vertical Kilometre. The weekend also includes the classic kMR events - the 66km Ultra (solo or relay), a 25km Mountain Run or Walk, a 5km and 9km Foothills Run plus a family 5km, and options for the kids.
The Alpine Marathon traverses remote, technical and exposed alpine terrain after climbing the full height of the mountain - it is a challenging run for experienced trail runners.
