Follow event Triathlon Road/Path/Park Kids Relay

The annual Sparke Helmore Newcastle City Triathlon is back on 9 November 2025.

The event is staged from the Camp Shortland near the Nobbys Beach area on Newcastle Harbour and is one of the most picturesque courses in Australia. The swim leg is an ocean swim adjacent to the beach. The cycle leg is a loop course from Foreshore Park to Newcastle Baths including part of Wharf Rd and Fort Drive. The run course is flat and fast.

There is a Corporate / Enticer triathlon for short course specialists or novice triathletes including businesses, and a Sprint distance triathlon. Take part as an individual or member of a 2-3 person relay team.

The 2025 event also includes Junior Triathlons for kids aged 7 - 13 years.

Triathlons (Swim + Bike + Run) - solo/relay:
Corporate/Enticer: 350m + 10K + 2.5K
Sprint: 750m + 20K + 5K

Junior/School Age Triathlons:
7 - 9 yrs: 100m + 2.5K + 500m
10 - 11 yrs: 150m + 5K + 1K
12 - 13 yrs: 250m + 5K + 1K
