The North Queensland Cross Country Championship 2026 returns to Cannon Valley in the Whitsundays on 12 April 2026.

This year's event will be run over new courses in the future Whitsunday Regional Sports Precinct opposite Brandy Creek Road about halfway between Proserpine and Airlie Beach.

It consists of eight races incorporating different age groups and run over 1, 2 and 3km courses. The 2026 courses consist of a mixture of surfaces, elevations, bends and long straights.

All competitors aged from 4 to 100 years are welcome to compete as individuals or representing their club.

This event is hosted by the Whitsunday Running Club on behalf of Athletics North Queensland as their premier cross country championship.
