The first event in the Northern Beaches Juniors Triathlon Club's Try a Tri Series is on 7 November 2026, based at Manly Dam.

The Ocean Dragons' Try a Tri events are designed for kids aged 5–15 to discover the sport without pressure, just confidence-building, movement and a great sense of achievement.

Set in the beautiful surrounds of Manly Dam, this AUS Triathlon sanctioned event is run by certified coaches and a passionate local community. While the race format introduces all three disciplines, the focus is firmly on participation and experience rather than competition - no timing, no podiums, just smiles at the finish line. There are flexible participation options available - kids can skip a leg or take part as a relay team.

Parents are welcome to support along the way, making it a truly inclusive and family-friendly event.

Distances/Events

Junior Triathlons (Swim + Bike + Run)
Short (5-8 yrs): 100m + 3K + 1K
Long (9-15 yrs): 200m + 6K + 2K
