The Somerset Rail Trail Classic on 12 July 2026 offers a unique opportunity to run, walk, or cycle along Australia’s longest recreational rail trail.

Set against the stunning backdrop of the Brisbane Valley and Brisbane River, this event welcomes participants of all abilities to enjoy an active day out in the Somerset region.

With options including a 3km or 8km run/walk and a 20km or 44km bike ride along the historic Brisbane Valley Rail Trail, it's a great way to challenge yourself while soaking in breathtaking scenery.

The running/walking course is an 8km track of disused rail corridor between Lowood and Fernvale. The shorter 3km course starts from Vernor. Both courses finish at Fernvale Sports Park.
