Nelson Bay River, TAS

Run/Walk Off Road/Trail

The takayna ultramarathon and takayna22 is a fundraising event in North West Tassie, returning for a second year on Friday, 13 March 2020.

This event will raise money to support the Bob Brown Foundation campaign to have takayna / Tarkine protected as a World Heritage listed National Park, returned to Aboriginal ownership.

80 runners took on the epic challenge of the inaugural takayna Ultra on 5 April 2019. Collectively the runners raised an amazing $104k which is a fantastic achievement. In 2020, they want to almost double the amount of runners to 150 and the fundraising to $200,000 to protect one of the last wildernesses on Earth.
