Melbourne's Best Places to Run
Melbourne is the running capital of Australia and there are some great places to go for a run, so we've compiled a list of the best places to run in Melbourne.
The Tan Track
The Tan Track is Melbourne's most popular running track; it loops around Kings Domain and the Royal Botanical Gardens, south-east of Melbourne's CBD.
Albert Park Lake
Albert Park Lake is a popular running spot in Melbourne, with a 4.8km track going around the lap that's mostly flat, but it can get some strong winds off Port Phillip Bay.
Capital City Trail
The Capital City Trail is a 27km loop that includes sections of other trails, including the Merri Creek trail, the Yarra Trail, the Moonee Ponds Creek Trail, and the Inner Circle rail trails.
Maribyrnong River Trail
The Maribyrnong River Trail is a 25km shared path from Docklands to Brimbank Park in Keilor. Run some of it, a looped section or, if you're really keen, the whole trail in one go!
Princes Park
Princes Park is a popular place to run in Carlton, North Melbourne and is located directly north of the University of Melbourne.
Solar System Trail
Melbourne's Solar System Trail on the Bay Trail is a great place to go for a run: it's right by the sea and has an interesting way of measuring out your run.
